What are fillers?

What can I expect when I have a filler treatment?

Dr. Morris performs your filler treatment in two sessions: an initial consultation and the actual treatment.

Step One: Consultation

Before your treatment appointment, Dr. Morris meets with you for a consultation to learn more about your goals and medical history. If she decides you’re a candidate for a filler treatment, you can make a treatment appointment to get started on your journey to a more youthful you.

Step Two: Filler treatment

The filler treatment takes about 30 minutes. Initially, Dr. Morris cleans the targeted facial area. For your comfort, she applies a topical anesthetic. Next, Dr. Morris injects a specific amount of filler or fillers just under your skin.

Most women and men experience minimal side effects, which may include mild swelling, redness, bruising, or irritation. Because it’s a minimally invasive procedure, you may return to work or resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Dr. Morris may recommend refraining from rigorous activity or exercise.

How long do the results of a filler treatment last?

As with Botox, the effects of facial fillers are temporary. Dr. Morris must perform periodic maintenance injections to maintain the results.

The results of filler treatments typically last up to 24 months. How long your results last depends on the filler used, the injection site, and the severity of the wrinkle or line.
